Ann Maude
Director and Principle
Family Law is an extremely complex area of the law, and involves far more than purely property and children’s matters.
Ann has been involved in complex family law issues including children’s matters (both Children’s Court and Family Court), interacting with the Department of Communities, Interstate and international matters (including Hague Convention), complex property matters (including commercial and farming interests), same sex matters and a particular interest in Family Violence Restraining Order Matters representing clients in the Magistrates Court. Ann has also appeared in the Federal Circuit Court representing clients in all states of Australia and overseas and has an in depth knowledge of the Australian Defence Force.
In 2021 Ann established Maude Family Lawyers where her intention is to provide legal advice that is simple to understand and in particular a cost effective solution where her aim is for the client to focus on their future and feel secure knowing where the next chapter of their life will lead.
For the next 22 years Ann worked in field of Nuclear Medicine, living and working in Sydney, Melbourne and predominantly Perth, where she settled on a permanent basis in 2006 with her family.
Ann has always had a love of the law and commenced studying part time at night whilst working full time and raising her three beautiful boys.
Whilst studying Ann completed work experience at a boutique family law practice and this is where her love of this area of the law was ignited.
Ann graduated with a Bachelor of Laws in 2015 and in 2016 commenced working for another boutique family law practice as a legal assistant whilst completing her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.
In 2016 Ann was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia as a Barrister and Solicitor. Since her admission, Ann has worked exclusively in the area of Family Law dealing with all matters that this area of the law encompasses.
Ann also volunteers at the Subiaco Justice Centre on a regular basis.
Away from the office Ann shares her life with her blended family including her partner, 3 sons and stepson. Besides her family, Ann’s other passions include the West Coast Eagles (some years are better than others!), running and has a passion for rescue animals as well as a love for her horses which provide the perfect calming balance between work and downtime.
